origins/structures (roots and affixes)
8.1.1.B Use basic writing forms and organizational patterns to skim, scan, study
and mark readings (paragraph form, introductions, conclusions,
cause/effect, sequences, comparison/contrast, graphic organizers, icons,
support materials)
8.1.1.C Outline, summarize, and take precise and concise notes for specific
purposes
8.2 Comprehend what is read in a variety of literary and informational texts
8.2.1 Reads, comprehends, responds to, and analyzes grade-level appropriate text

8.2.1.A Evaluate specific sources (date, source, biases, suitability to purpose,
propaganda, research)
